Call and text consent

Short answer

Checking the optional call and text box lets Carolina Personal Loans, 1st Advantage Mortgage and lending partners call and text you about your request, including with automated dialing. It is not a condition of getting a loan. Reply STOP to end texts anytime. We record when and how you agreed.

The wording on our form

If you check the optional box, you agree to this statement:

I agree that Carolina Personal Loans, 1st Advantage Mortgage and its lending partners may call and text me at the number above about my loan request and related offers, including by autodialed or prerecorded calls and texts. This consent is not a condition of getting a loan or any service. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time.

Plain-language summary

  • The box is optional. Leaving it unchecked does not stop you from submitting a request; we will use email instead of calls and texts.
  • Consent is not a condition of getting a loan or any service.
  • Reply STOP to any text to end texts. Email sales@firstadvantagemortgage.com to end calls and email.
  • We record the time, your IP address, the page you used and the exact wording you saw, so we can prove what you agreed to.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

What federal rules require

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Federal Communications Commission's rules restrict autodialed and prerecorded calls and texts to mobile phones. For marketing messages sent with an automatic telephone dialing system or a prerecorded voice, the sender generally needs your prior express written consent. That is why our form has a separate, unchecked box with its own wording, and why you can submit a request without checking it. Consent is not a condition of getting a loan, and a lender may not make it one.

You can revoke consent at any time by any reasonable means. Reply STOP to a text, tell a caller you do not want more calls, or email the address on our contact page with your name and number. We will record the request and stop. Other messages related to your existing request, such as a single confirmation that you opted out, may still be sent.

What you can expect if you check the box

Calls or texts about your loan request from us, 1st Advantage Mortgage or a lending partner, possibly with automated technology. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier, and message frequency varies. If you do not check the box, we will use email.

Quiet hours and do-not-call

Federal rules limit calling hours for telemarketing and require honoring do-not-call requests. Being on the National Do Not Call Registry does not stop calls you have invited, but you can still withdraw consent at any time. For more, see the FCC's consumer guide on robocalls and texts.

Common questions about calls and texts

Will I get calls if I leave the box unchecked? We will use email. A lender you choose to apply with may have its own contact rules, which it must follow.

What if my number changes or I give up the phone? Tell us and we will remove the old number. Numbers that are reassigned can reach someone else, so let us know if you give up a number.

Can I consent to texts but not calls? The form has one optional box that covers both. If you want texts only, check the box and tell us by email, or ask a caller to stop. We will record it.

What counts as an opt-out? Replying STOP, QUIT, END, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE to a text, or telling a caller you do not want more calls. Reasonable wording is enough; you do not need a special phrase.

Your records

Keep a screenshot of the form, or save this page, if you want your own record of what you agreed to. We keep our own record of the wording and timestamp so that we can show it if asked.

Read our privacy policy for how we handle the rest of your information, our terms and our disclosures for how we are paid.

When a lending partner receives your request, it becomes responsible for its own contact with you. It must follow federal and state rules on calls, texts and email, including quiet hours, opt-outs and honoring do-not-call requests. Revoking your consent with us does not automatically revoke it with a lender that already holds your information, so tell each lender directly. If a lender continues after you opt out, you can file a complaint with the FCC or your state attorney general.

Why the box is separate and optional

Rules treat consent for automated marketing calls and texts differently from consent to be contacted generally. Keeping it in its own box, unchecked, with its own wording makes clear that agreeing is a choice. We do not use a pre-checked box, we do not hide the wording and we do not make consent a condition of using the site.

Write down the date, time and number that called or texted and what was said. Send that to us, and file a complaint with the FCC or your state attorney general if the contact continues. Keeping records helps resolve the issue faster.
